What’s this you ask? This is the dog and the messy office of a woman who minutes ago finally completed a solid draft of an historical novel 186,000 words long. She first began to research this story over 15 years ago and kept putting it down to write other things, and then 5 years ago completed a MESS of a first draft, and put it down again. She almost abandoned it altogether when her very fat journal with 15 years of notes and scribbles and research — a record of this journey, really — was in a bag that was stolen. But she did not abandon it. She completed it. So I’d just like to thank EVERYBODY, especially the people who kept asking me “How’s the book?” I FINALLY got as tired of hearing the same damn answer as you! 😂🥳🥂🍾
